Vacation Mode

I'm off work for the holidays. Have a great Christmas everyone. I will try to post sometime next week.

Thanksmas

Thanksmas is great. It's my own personal holiday. When I was about 21 or so I worked for UPS. Every Thanksgiving they would give all of the employees a turkey. I was going to spend the holiday with my family so I had a spare turkey in my apartment. I decided to not let it got to waste. That gave birth to Thanksmas. Thanksmas (such an original name) is a mashing of Thanksgiving and Christmas. I decided that since you have to see family on those holidays, it would be good to have a time set aside for your friends. I would make the turkey and the sides. I'd make my cheesecake. People would bring other sides or dessert....maybe some beer. It's a good time. Last Saturday was the 8th Thanksmas. I love it. I usually wrestle with the idea of Thanksmas every year. It seems like a lot of work and a pain in the ass when I give it too much thought, but nothing beats just having a nice dinner with all of your friends around the holidays. It gets harder each year to keep in touch and Thanksmas helps.

I also look forward to when my son can have his friends over for Thanksmas....or maybe even carry on the tradition when he gets older. I look forward to him carrying on these traditions.


PS I'm a big fucking sally around the holidays. I've been listening to Christmas music since mid November.

Ahh women...

My wife unplugs the toaster oven to save energy. That makes no sense to me. If it's not on then it's not using energy. She is adamant about this. I just plug it in when I see it unplugged. She wants to save energy, but her logic is flawed. Why does she keep her cell phone charger plugged in when there is no phone attached to it? Why does she leave the light over the oven on all night?

These are a few examples as to why women make no sense and why there will never be a female president.


Anyone else have any examples?

So Tookie Williams is dead. Boo fucking hoo. I don't care what he has done for peace. I don't care that he is a changed man. I care that he killed four people and ruined lives. I hate these fucking protesters. Some of them brought their kids there. Lets say someone came up to the protesters and shot their kid in the face. They drop their gun and say I'm sorry and I will change. Do you think the parents would just leave the gun there and hope this person changed? I don't. I think they would grab the gun and pull the trigger until it goes click.


Sure I guess he did a lot of good when he was incarcerated, but unless he learns to raise the dead then he deserved to die.

New start

So I had to move runawayclyde. I was starting to feel constricted and I don't like feeling that way. I can rant away now. I can talk some shit without people getting offended. This is a place for me to rant and I felt like at first my old blog was that as well. It stopped being that way. I felt like I had to cater to some of my readers and I need to only cater to me. I'll do better this time.
